Can the platform support me if I want to expand to more properties?

Once a guest completes a booking on an OTA platform (e.g., Airbnb), WELOCK HOST automatically syncs the order → the system generates a time-limited access code → WELOCK HOST pushes the code to the guest via SMS/WhatsApp/email automatically → the guest uses that code to unlock during the check-in window. At the same time, the system automatically triggers a cleaning task: after check-out time, the WELOCK lock’s closing signal syncs to WELOCK HOST, which then notifies cleaners of the “checked out” status and task list. The entire process requires no manual intervention.

Why not use traditional key handover?

Traditional key handover requires you to personally deliver the key or leave it at a pickup point, taking about 2–3 hours per exchange. WELOCK HOST shortens the entire process to less than 1 minute, saving you the time of meeting guests in person.
If Wi-Fi is down when the guest checks in, can they still open the door?
Yes. The remotely generated PIN codes are stored in the lock’s local firmware. Even if the internet is disconnected, offline codes still allow guests to enter normally. Only “offline mode” cannot sync unlocking logs to the app, but the check-in experience is unaffected.
Can a guest still use the access code after they check out?
After the guest checks out (e.g., by 12:00 PM on the scheduled departure day), WELOCK HOST automatically expires that guest’s code and revokes their unlock permission in the app. For absolute safety, you can remotely factory-reset the lock, making the previous guest’s access impossible.
What if the smart lock batteries run out?
The WELOCK HOST backend monitors lock battery levels and sends “low battery push notifications” to you and the admin in advance, reminding you to replace batteries. Unlike ordinary home locks, if a smart lock fails severely and could block a day’s rental, WELOCK HOST supplied locks have an average repair turnaround far shorter than typical market standards, and we provide 24/7 engineering backup support.

What type of doors does the WELOCK lock fit?

WELOCK smart locks are mainly compatible with European standard mortise cylinders, suitable for most European standard door types. Cylinder length can be adjusted based on door thickness. For specific fit parameters, please refer to the product page data.
Is the WELOCK smart lock difficult to install?
Not at all. WELOCK smart locks are designed for DIY installation — no drilling or wiring required. You only need the included Phillips screwdriver, and the entire process typically takes less than 10 minutes. A detailed instruction manual and installation videos are provided in the package. Follow the steps and you can complete the installation without hiring a locksmith.
How do I know if my door is compatible with the WELOCK lock?
Visit the WELOCK official website product page, enter your lock specifications (cylinder type, door thickness) to check compatibility. You can also send a photo of your current lock to WELOCK customer service for remote confirmation.
How long does the battery last? What if the battery runs out?
The WELOCK smart lock is powered by 3 AAA batteries. Under normal use (approximately 10 lock/unlock operations per day), the battery life can reach 8–10 months. When the battery level drops below 20%, the lock screen will display the battery status each time you use it, and the App will push a low‑battery reminder to your phone. If the battery is completely drained and you cannot unlock the door, you can temporarily power the lock via the USB port using a power bank. Then use the “USB Unlock Mode” in the WELOCK App to open the door until you replace the batteries.
Does the WELOCK smart lock support remote control? How do I set it up?
For basic use, the WELOCK lock works via Bluetooth and fingerprint — no internet connection is required. If you need remote management (e.g., remote unlocking from your phone, viewing access logs, or smart home integration), you will need to purchase the optional WIFIBOX3 gateway. Setup steps: power on the gateway, press and hold the setup button for 6 seconds until the indicator light turns red, open the WELOCK App and tap Add Device → Add Gateway, enter your Wi‑Fi name and password (only 2.4GHz Wi‑Fi is supported — 5GHz is not). When the gateway’s signal indicator turns green, the connection is successful. Any locks already bound in the App will automatically pair with the gateway within about 3 minutes.

Besides its own app, can WELOCK HOST sync with Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.?

Yes. WELOCK HOST’s integration layer provides real-time connectivity with global OTAs such as Airbnb, Booking.com, VRBO, etc. Hosts can sync prices, inventory, and bookings across all channels from a single backend. This avoids “overselling” or “double-booking” risks – any calendar update is instantly pushed to all platforms.
What payment aggregators and currencies does WELOCK HOST support?
WELOCK HOST integrates credit card payments, e-wallets, and bank transfer connections. After WELOCK HOST collects funds, the system automatically pays out to your bank account in your chosen currency (e.g., EURO, USD, RMB).
Does WELOCK HOST support mixed management of long-term and short-term rentals?
Yes. WELOCK HOST supports mixed rental models – whether a 30-day long-term lease or a 2-day weekend stay, the system automatically generates legally valid electronic contract templates and manages utility bills (water, electricity, internet, etc.). The platform displays different business flows, check-out checklists, and automatic payment reminders based on the rental type.

How do I book a property through WELOCK HOST? Can I get a prepaid electronic receipt?

Simply download the WELOCK HOST app and complete identity verification. The platform requires guests to pass a “match ID with face” biometric check – this process is only for security. After successful booking and full payment, the system automatically generates and sends an electronic lease agreement and payment receipt (Tax Invoice) for your reimbursement or accounting purposes.
Can guests request early check-in or late check-out via WELOCK HOST?
Yes. Guests can communicate with the AI property manager directly in the app’s message centre to request “early check-in”. If the previous guest checked out on time (standard 12:00) and cleaning is completed, the system allows early check-in and automatically updates the validity of the new temporary access code.
Will WELOCK HOST remind me before my short-term stay?
Yes. WELOCK HOST sends push notifications after booking confirmation, 2 days before check-in, and at midday on the check-out day – reminding you to get the digital key, access Wi-Fi password and check-in instructions, and complete check-out rating.
As a guest, what should I do if the WELOCK HOST smart lock runs out of battery or malfunctions?
If you encounter any lock issues during your stay, first try replacing the backup batteries or long-pressing the reset emergency power supply. If that still doesn’t work, use the “one-touch help” feature in the app to call WELOCK HOST customer service. Customer support will guide you through remote unlocking or arrange emergency on-site assistance.
